Zero Waste Emissions
Achievement
Waste management is an essential part of operating a production facility. In 1997 Epson has set itself the goal to achieve zero waste emissions for its production facilities. Level 1 is defined as 100%
recycling of all waste generated from business-related activities.
Level 2: defines the goal to further reduce input waste, such as natural resources input through material re-usage.
1997: E
pson started zero emissions initiatives encompassing all Epson sites worldwide.
2004: Z
ero emissions (Level 1) achieved at all Epson companies in
Japan and all Epson manufacturing companies outside Japan in
March.
2008: A
s of March 2008, 13 sites achieved Level 2 zero emissions. As a result of these efforts Epson reduced natural resource inputs by
2,370 tons in fiscal year 2006.
