Stereo Image Processor Software
Sony is proud to introduce the latest addition of new features to its MPES-3D01 Stereo Image Processor Software installed in the MPE-200 Multi Image Processor. This innovative Stereo Image Processor (comprising MPE-200 hardware and MPES-3D01 software) allows users to analyze 3D images with a built-in waveform monitoring function, and make fine adjustments to image appearance through digital signal processing. This greatly reduces the cumbersome, time-consuming task of mechanical fine adjustment of 3D camera rigs. New software features include remote motor drive control of the stereo 3D rig*1 from an outside broadcast (OB) van control room - this enables fine adjustment during an event, and means there's no need for a stereographer on location at the event. With new MPES-3D01 software, users can control more than 10 MPE-200 processors via a PC loaded with the software's GUI*2. And this enhanced software also provides greater support to simplify alignment operations including optical axis, auto alignment and auto color matching menu. In addition, this Stereo Image Processor enhances the operational performance of Sony's 3D content creation products, such as cameras and switchers. For example, Sony cameras deliver lens information such as zoom position as real-time metadata, and the Stereo Image Processor can make use of this data for advanced adjustments such as automatic zoom scale matching. This enables high-quality 3D content to be created with just a simple camera rig. Furthermore, this solution offers a choice of monitoring methods for stereo monitor output, including side-by-side, above/below, anaglyph, 50% mix, and difference. Outstanding performance and excellent operability make this innovative solution of an MPE-200 processor with MPES-3D01 software ideal for a broad range of 3D shooting and live production applications.
*1 Supports Element Technica and its compatible protocol. *2 The MPES-3D01 software package comprises two software programs: processor software installed on the MPE-200 unit, and GUI software installed on a Windows PC.
