Utensili necessari
" Utilizzare l'utensile fornito; cacciavite Phillips #2 o Torx-8 a seconda del tipo di viti presenti. Nota: Le viti Torx sono a stella, come illustrato qui sotto.
Testa di una vite Torx
" Un vassoio o contenitore simile per riporre le viti.

Informazioni importanti
1. Alcuni modelli di iMac G5 presentano delle viti torx argentate che assicurano la ventola, altri invece hanno delle viti Phillips #2 ambrate. Utilizzare uno degli utensili inclusi per rimuovere le viti della ventola.
2. Ogni intervento al computer deve essere effettuato dopo aver verificato che il collegamento di messa a terra sia funzionante. La seguente procedura mostra come operare in totale sicurezza.
3. Tenere bevande e altre sostanze liquide lontane dall area in cui si interviene nel computer iMac.

Aprire il computer
1. Spegnere il computer selezionando Spegni nel menu Apple.
2. Scollegare tutti i cavi dal computer, incluso il cavo di alimentazione.

3. Collocare un panno morbido e pulito sulla scrivania o altra superficie d appoggio. Afferrare entrambi i lati del computer e appoggiare delicatamente lo schermo sul panno, come mostrato nell illustrazione.

4. Individuare le tre viti dello chassis cerchiate sotto. Sollevare il supporto metallico per individuare la vite centrale. Nota: Queste sono viti trattenute; fanno parte della struttura schermo/cornice e non possono essere rimosse.
